Hear from parents about their experiences with Evergreen Primary School.

"I was a student here and just recently graduated. To me, the people here are really friendly! The teachers are really understanding and will not hesitate to help the students. They will also check up on you and try to do as much as they can if you are in need of help or support. I would recommend this school, as it has awesome teachers, staff and students:)"

"I’m gonna be straightforward with this. I do not recommend this school to anyone at all. Maybe i am biased from my much better experiences in secondary school but really. Don’t. Ive been wanting to put a review like this but i was afraid someone would see and know its me but now, after seeing someone else leave a bad review, i have also decided to step out. For starters, Mr aw’s “show me that you’re ready” (when he says that you have to fold your arms and sit up super straight and if even ONE PERSON is just SLIGHTLY SLOUCHING he would stand there and waste everyone’s time. It apparently is supposed to make us concentrate better but it barely helps and most of the time we (yes, I have asked my other classmates about this and they agree) end up being too focussed on maintaining the position that we stop paying attention. One of my classmates even shared how he’d get pissed at Mr aw for forcing us to do it and he wouldn’t listen. Plus Mr aw always always always has his speeches first thing in the morning so we’re all still sleepy and he wastes lesson time. Speaking about mornings, whose bright idea was it to let us assemble in the parade square EVERY SINGLE DAMN DAY. We couldn’t even have our tradition of decorating the class and surprising the teachers on Teacher’s Day (been there since p1) a lot of classes ran up to decorate anyways but when Mr aw found out he hurried all of us down to the parade square while most of us were crouching down waiting to scare the teachers. One of my classmates fell down while going down and fractured her foot. She was in a wheel chair for the rest of the year and even took psle in a wheelchair. Besides things like that, can we mention how Mr aw repainted the school during the holidays and painted the school WHITE but put the sign outside gate 1 which has the schools name and crest BRIGHT RED. Not to mention, the new automated gate takes painfully long to open. Another thing is, my p5p6 pe teacher would regularly be late. Not just 2 minutes late but on average 8-10 minutes late. Once he was late for 25 minutes even after the class leaders reported to the general office and he laughed it off saying “oh, i just forgot” and when he doesn’t have enough time to teach what he wanted he blames us for ‘taking too long to settle down’. One thing he always says is, “you all should learn to be like me. See I’m so self disciplined unlike you who keep talking” ironic isn’t it. There’s also the point of toxic classmates but idk if other levels also have it but i heard that there were cases of bullying in other levels. And its not like the school performed well academically too… In conclusion, send your kids here if you want them to suffer."

"I had recently graduated in 2024 and I enjoyed my experience in this school, the principal has announced new facilities in this school, and those who join can expect more CCAs, more facilities, and colourful school buildings here, my favourite part is the Percussion Ensemble CCA. Although I cannot confirm that then entire EGPS journey will be all fun, and it’s just an ordinary school, this is easy to access school with a nearby bus stop, so I do recommend parents to consider this choice"

"I was a student at this school once. Teachers choose students that act good in front of them to be prefects, even though some are just acting and are toxic to friends behind the teachers backs. They pretend to let students have a choice and voice. I was never given a chance to impact anything. Only head prefect and senior prefects and deputy head prefects can. Teachers don’t take initiative to help students and ask students to help each other. They tell us not to use phone while walking. My PE teacher uses phone while climbing stairs and walking along the corridor. He is the hod of PE too. Teachers should lead by example, not just using words. Hopefully the new principal can help evergreen. 2 stars because there might be a chance that the new principal can change this."

"My children walk through this school gate to start their learning journey since 2001. It is one of the best neighbourhood school in the North. School's niche is performing arts.💃👿🏆🎽"

"I'm an alumni of the school, and I have a cousin (who will remain anonymous) who constantly shares with me her experiences in the school as a prefect, and they aren't pleasent. I wanted to write an email to the principal privately, but I went to the school website and found none. This review is my last resort. I won't go into too much detail, but basically, she regularly gets bullied by her classmates since she was 7 and her current principle, Mr Aw, constantly pressures the prefects unnecessarily. Let's just say a P5 prefect should NOT be experiencing this kind of pressure as a student leader. I find it absolutely bewildering that this is happening to her, and mind you, she crashed out when telling me about this. I'm talking about ACTUAL tears and RAGE as she recounted all her experiences over the past year, which has significantly gotten worse. She already has enough of her plate as a student leader who has high expectations from everyone and her studies. I, as her cousin, do not want her to be pressurized to this extent where she gets criticized for every little mistake just because she is a prefect. I understand that we have to teach the kids when they are young, but not to the point where they cry everytime they're under pressure by their peers or anyone else, especially the principal. I hope the situation gets better, and that my cousin has more pleasant experiences to tell me. Thank you."

"I recently graduated from here a year ago. In my honest opinion, the teachers are extremely supportive and to be honest, they all love to help the students. During my years in Primary School, I have been supported. Not only that, my friends were very amiable. They were there to help me out whenever I was in times of needs. The teachers are not only very hard-working, they are approachable too. They are more than willing to help students if they should have any problems. Not only that, they are very understanding. Truly, I am grateful to have an opportunity to have an wonderful experience in Evergreen Primary School."
